What Electric Cars Are Available on Motability?
Discover what EVs qualify for Motability and how you can benefit as a driver on the scheme
For us here at EMG, our association with the Motability Scheme is a point of great pride; it ties into our belief that everyone should have access to the latest motoring technology. As we know, the future of motoring is electric, and so the number of cars available on Motability will naturally increase.
For those ahead of the curve, you may already be on the lookout for an electric car on Motability; but which one should you choose? Here, we’ll explain more about the Motability scheme, and what electric cars are available on Motability at EMG…
What is Motability?
Designed to facilitate new cars for those receiving a mobility allowance, the Motability scheme enables you to exchange that mobility allowance for the lease of a vehicle.
The choice of vehicle is entirely yours, and you’re able to explore any adaptations that could be made to the car to help you drive or travel in it. The payments are then deducted from your allowance every four weeks and made directly to Motability by your benefit payment agency.
With a Motability car, your insurance, servicing, breakdown cover and more are all covered, which takes a lot of the stress out of car ownership.
You can find out more about who is eligible for the Motability scheme, and how it works at EMG here.
What electric cars are available on Motability?
Kia Soul EV
Stylishly boxy, the Kia Soul EV is a fantastic all-rounder, with enough luggage capacity, head and leg room for it to be confidently described as spacious. Thanks to split-folding rear seats, the 315-litre boot space can be quickly increased to a very handy 1,339-litre cargo area.
The Soul features a 64kWh lithium-ion 201bhp 1-speed automatic engine, enabling it to get from 0-60mph in 7.6 seconds. This is electric driving without compromise, and it’s available through the Motability Scheme.
Mazda MX-30
With a fresh contemporary design, the all-electric MX-30, available in four multi-tone colours, gives us a glimpse of future Mazdas. It’s a car that feels premium on the inside, with a nod to Mazda’s cork heritage in the central part of the cabin.
Features on board include Turn-Across Traffic functionality, Mazda Connect Infotainment, and complete compatibility with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay.
The Mazda MX-30 handles beautifully with intelligent e-Skyactiv electric drive technology, and has a range of 124 miles to keep you zipping around town worry-free.
MG4 EV
Who said battery power had to be boring? The MG4 EV is great to look at, fun to drive, and packed with technology as impressive as its design.
Available in three different trim levels, the MG4 EV may look sporty as it is, but no compromise has been made on a comfortable journey. An electric drivetrain keeps the central ‘hump’ low in the back, so even a 5th passenger can enjoy the trip with enough room to relax in.
Nissan ARIYA
The Nissan ARIYA is an all-electric crossover that cruises onto the market with a sleek, minimal design. These head-turning looks are backed up with solid performance; it boasts dual motors that deliver a cool and comfortable ride.
Built-in Alexa, ProPilot and Navi link keep you connected while you’re on your travels, and a five-star Euro NCAP rating ensures peace of mind on the road.
MG ZS EV
It’s brand new with an increased range, and it’s available on Motability; the MG ZS EV features an improved 72kWh lithium-ion battery providing a driving range of up to 273 miles. Inside, there’s a 10.1” colour touchscreen fitted as standard, and those that choose the Trophy and Trophy Connect models can look forward to wireless phone charging and adaptive cruise control.
Kia EV6
If you've seen an EV6 glide by, you'll know how impressive they appear, and they're not just a pretty face; inside, you'll find every possible function you could wish for to make your journey safe, well-connected, and comfortable. It's available on Motability too! Ultra-fast charging, up to 316 miles of range, augmented reality heads-up display and a generous 1,600kg of towing capacity make the EV6 irresistible.
